Adriana Almaraz is the heart behind Pawsitive Paws Pet Sitting & Dog Walking, proudly serving the Cedar Valley. With a deep passion for animals and a natural ability to connect with them, Adriana brings peace of mind to pet owners by forming genuine bonds with the pets she cares for.
Adriana has a lifetime of experience caring for a variety of animals. Between her own pets and clients, she has cared for cats, dogs, ducks, birds, fish, reptiles, arachnids, rabbits, and ferrets.
Adriana has been professionally pet sitting and dog walking for about 3 years now. She began her pet care journey after the pandemic absolutely falling in love with traveling pet care. As well as owning her own business, she works at a local doggy daycare facility gaining knowledge and experience handling a variety of breeds in a group setting.
Adriana shares her life with a fur family of two Border Collies and four cats. In her free time, she loves taking them all on nature adventures, and blending exploration with enrichment. Whether it's playing fetch with her dogs, teaching them new tricks, or challenging them with brain games, she’s passionate about keeping them happy and healthy.
Adriana has dedicated herself to learning effective ways to enrich her pets lives. This knowledge she often brings into her pet sitting work. These enrichment techniques help keep the animals both mentally and physically engaged while building a stronger bond between her and the pets in her care.
Adriana is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at the University of Northern Iowa. She strongly believes in the healing power of the human-animal bond, which has inspired her to pursue a future in animal-assisted social work, with a focus on supporting the well-being of children.
While she works toward her MSW, Adriana is proud to provide compassionate, personalized in-home pet care throughout the Cedar Valley, helping pets feel safe, loved, and right at home.
